Pauliina Ståhlberg starts as the director of the Institute 15 January. She has a long career in the media especially at the Finnish Broadcasting Company YLE. Her role at YLE encompassed directing, producing, and editing cultural and current affairs programmes. Prior to YLE Ståhlberg worked as the Head of Sponsorship and Communications at the Finnish National Gallery Ateneum.
“We are very happy to welcome Pauliina Ståhlberg as the new director of the Institute. Her strengths include a wide experience both in the cultural field and in the media industry. She has a great vision about how to further develop and increase the Institute’s networks and audiences”, says the Institute’s Trust’s chairman Juhana Aunesluoma.
Pauliina Ståhlberg has a keen interest in the role of the media in the society and resolving social issues. She has trained journalists in Afghanistan and researched the role of the media in the future of learning.
Ståhlberg is currently preparing her doctoral dissertation at the Aalto University. She graduated from the University of Glasgow and undertook postgraduate studies in journalism at the University of Strathclyde. She has previously studied at the University of Helsinki.
