The Finnish Institute in London is launching a new project which focuses on boys’ and men’s well-being.

The persistently widening gap between girls’ and boys’ learning outcomes, men’s mental health problems, and the disappearance of traditionally male dominated industries are only a few of the issues that men are faced with in today’s society. These problems are well acknowledged and much research data exists, but the topic should be made even more visible in public debate and decision-making processes. Improving the conditions of young men is crucially important for the sake of a society’s overall well-being.

The Jobs for the Boys project aims to address these issues by the means of social sciences, art and communication, by for example creating a ‘being a man today’ video campaign.
