The Institute Announces a Design Competition For Finnish Art and Design Students

    18.2.2016
The Finnish Institute in London is launching a design competition for Finnish art and design students and graduates to uncover raw, new talent. The Institute has been running an annually changing commission for its visual identity since 2012. The winner of the competition will have the opportunity to design this illustrated image and win a trip to London to meet with top professionals in the field for advice and mentoring.

The Institute has worked with a range of Finland’s most talented artists, designers and illustrators that each engage in different design approaches, methods and thinking. The designers of the visual image in the previous years include Klaus Haapaniemi, Janine Rewell, Jaakko Pallasvuo, Jenni Rope and Janne Räisänen.

The visual image will be showcased as the background of the Institute’s website, social media platforms and all other marketing. This will offer the winning entry and designer great international exposure and allow them to create opportunities for networking and collaboration in the UK, Ireland and further afield. The Institute will organise for the winner to be flown to London and meet with some of London’s top creatives for an informal talk and advise.

Finnish art and design students and graduates studying anywhere in the world are welcome to take part in the competition – but the prize only includes the return flight between Helsinki-London. The prize doesn’t include accommodation.

The Finnish Institute in London will hold the copyright to the winning work during the agreed time period.

Please email your competition entry in jpeg-format to the Head of Communications & Events, Animaya Grant by 23.3.2016 at animaya.grant@finnish-institute.org.uk.
