South Social Meets Finland - An evening celebrating Finnish cinema and music
South Social Film Festival pays tribute to Finland 12 May at 7pm at the Cinema Museum by screening The Happiest Day in the Life of Olli Mäki by Juho Kuosmanen, winner of Un Certain Regard at Cannes Film Fest last year. The main protagonist, Jarkko Lahti will be present and ready to answer the Q&A.
As a music ambassador will be the talented Finnish songwriter, Manna, who will perform a solo concert for her only date in London. Manna is described as a cross between Patti Smith and Charlotte Gainsbourg. Her vocal delivery is close to the jazz hues of Amy Winehouse. Info on Manna here
Finnish superfood will be provided all throughout the event by the amazing Finnish Church in London.
South Social Film Festival is an immersive movie, music & dining experience celebrating independent world cinema. First launched in 2015, South Social dedicates every event to a different country, turning into a platform to celebrate diversity through art, cinema, world music and food.
Main partners for this event are the Embassy of Finland, London, the Finnish Institute in London, the Finnish Church and MUBI.
