SHORT DESCRIPTION 5 to 6 month internship Media/PR internship

DESCRIPTION OF PLACEMENT The intern will support the Institute’s media efforts. Work at the Institute is often fast-paced, requiring multi-tasking, prioritising skills and a "can do” attitude. Typical tasks include managing the Institute’s social media accounts, updating the website, sourcing for texts and preparing press releases. Tasks will also include assisting in the management of the Institute’s events and general office routines. We value initiative, teamwork, flexibility and organisational skills. Excellent skills in communications, Finnish and English are essential. Knowledge of the focus areas is a plus.

DATES 5 to 6 months starting January or February 2018. The dates are negotiable.

FUNDING The selected intern must be able to secure funding for the internship him/herself. Previous interns have secured funding for example through their universities, the Erasmus programme or the employment office (työelämävalmennus). The Institute is unable to accept interns without a source of funding. The Institute will, however, support the internship by supplying a monthly travel card for Transport for London (zones 1-2).
