Finnish-American artist Liisa Roberts takes up residence in the Camden Arts Centre’s Artists' Studio from October to December 2008.

During the 1990s Roberts made site-specific installations focusing on space and time. Using formal elements in both film and sculpture she created a tension between the two.

In 2000 she worked on a collaborative project 'VYBORG: a town library in Viipuri' which was inspired by the restoration of the now Russian city’s public library designed by Finnish architect Alvar Aalto in the late 20’s. It exposed a younger generation's view of this city's post-Communist present and future. Roberts used public tours, broadcasts, exhibitions and a film to develop what she called a 'real time installation'.

During her residency she will be researching ideas for a new project.
