Turku 2011 Hops to HEL YES! for the Closing Night
The Finnish Institute's pop up restaurant and design exhibition HEL YES! wraps up 2 October in a night of Finnish electronica galore.
The Finnish Institute's pop up restaurant and design exhibition HEL YES! is rounding up to its final week, after an amazingly successful fortnight.
The restaurant produced as part of The London Design Festival 2010 was fully booked since its first day open in mid-September. The restaurant located in the Londonewcastle Depot in East London has been busy serving as a bustling epicentre for people and ideas during the festival.
The HEL YES! menu created by concept director and executive chef Antto Melasniemi and his team of chefs has intrigued Londoners and festival-goers alike. White Fish Tartare, Ox Tongue, Karelian Stew, Wild Mushroom Hash, Whipped Raspberry Manna and Liquorice Crème Brulee have won Finnish food some brand new fans.
"At first people were a little suspicious about certain dishes, but they have all really enjoyed the food. I was particularly surprised about how much they liked the liquorice crème brulée", Antto Melasniemi enthuses.
Before being bagged up, HEL YES! will wrap up with a night of electronica galore on Saturday 2nd October. The club night Night Moves - Club Hopping with Turku 2011 will bring top Finnish club acts from Turku, home of the Finnish underground to the closing night of HEL YES!
A line up of DJ's affiliated with the leading Finnish electronic music festival Turku Modern includes Turku-based DJ and Producer Jori Hulkkonen and DJ Esko Routamaa, joined by hannulelauri from Helsinki. The Turku Modern night at HEL YES! is brought to you by Turku European Capital of Culture 2011.
