HEL YES! - STILSS MAKING HEADLINES

The 2010 London Design Festival success, the Finnish Institute in London's temporary restaurant and exhibition HEL YES! is proving temporary can have legs. As a follow up to HEL YES!, the members of its creative team all launched exciting new projects at this year's Milan design week.

HEL YES!'s concept director and executive chef, Finnish food visionary Antto Melasniemi launched his Lapin Kulta Solar Kitchen Restaurant 12.-17.4.11 at Triennale di Milano. The restaurant is the brainchild of Antto Melasniemi, acclaimed Catalan designer Martí Guixé and HEL YES! partner Lapin Kulta. Based on a solar kitchen concept where cooking is powered by pure solar energy, the restaurant rethinks our perception of the kitchen, cooking, food, drink and their connection to nature. As the Lapin Kulta Solar kitchen restaurant continues its journey from Milan, food and design fans will be able to enjoy it in locations including Stockholm and Helsinki.

The creative team behind HEL YES!, Finnish designers Klaus Haapaniemi and Mia Wallenius presented their latest collaboration with the British design and manufacturing company, Established and Sons at the Versace Theatre in Milan 11.-17.4.11. The Volcano, Mammoth, Meteor collection is influenced by Finnish folklore, history and nature. True to Klaus Haapaniemi brand's commitment to using the finest artisan production methods, the Mammoth tapestry and the Meteor Ottoman are hand-embroidered and the Volcano rug is entirely hand-woven. The idea for the collaboration started at HEL YES! where Established and Sons met the designers and fell in love with the Klaus Haapaniemi textiles.
