Tapio Snellman Launches a Project at Clerkenwell Design Week
Finnish architect and filmmaker Tapio Snellman's studio Neutral is behind a new project called Upright launching in London 24-26 May as part of the Clerkenwell Design Week. Snellman runs Neutral together with fellow architect and filmmaker Christian Grou -and their studio spans a wide creative realm encompassing design, architecture and film.
Upright can be viewed at the House of Detention in Clerkenwell. Upright is a vertical journey through a futuristic city, collaged together from bits of infrastructure and mismatching architectures. Projected on to walls of an enclosure, the video footage creates an illusion of a panorama elevator ride in a glass box. Just when one expects the journey to have reached its ending, it all starts again, in an endless continuous loop.
