• Finnish design agency Kokoro & Moi is taking part in EXCHANGE - a new series of events by London-based organisation Alpha-ville designed to give the London art, tech and creative communities the opportunity to connect, exchange ideas, get inspired and discover new talent.

The first event in the series takes place on Friday 17 January 2014 at Rich Mix Cinema and Arts Centre in Shoreditch and brings together talented artists, creatives and designers from around the world to talk about their practice, influences and recent works.

Kokoro & Moi was established 2001 by Finnish designers Antti Hinkula and Teemu Suviala. Now based in both Helsinki and New York, Kokoro & Moi is a full-service creative agency focusing on strategy, identity and design. Their work is about change, collaboration and play – and new ways of using the power of design to create value, purposefulness and a better planet. Kokoro & Moi has worked alongside a broad, international range of organisations such as JCDecaux, Uniqlo and Rovio (Angry Birds), The American Institute of Architects, the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and the World Design Capital initiative.

"Collaboration in design practice has become an increasingly important concept over the past decade with citizens and users encouraged to participate in decision making and help dictate the outcome of an end product, and creatives and clients forming tight groups to solve problems through different forms of co-creation. It is an area where we have considerable experience working on and we will share our discoveries from incorporating these outside contributions into our design process," says Teemu Suviala of Kokoro & Moi.

EXCHANGE 1 features a day programme packed with presentations, talks and social events alongside a music programme in the evening. Work will be presented across: motion graphics, graphic design, illustration, interaction design, generative design, digital and software art, mixed media art, data visualisation and more.

EXCHANGE is curated and produced by Alpha-ville, a London-based organisation dedicated to connecting the fields of art, design and technology through events and a webzine at alpha-ville.co.uk. For more details about Alpha-ville Exchange please visit: http://www.alpha-ville.co.uk/exchange/

The event is supported by The Finnish Institute in London.
