Minna Kantonen, From the series ‘Urban Vistas’ The Finnish photographer Minna Kantonen’s exhibition Urban Vistas: Illusions of Nature opens at the Foundry Gallery on 7 February. The exhibition is open until 27 March 2014.
The Urban Vistas: Illusion of Nature consists of hyper-real portraits of nature and trees in the cityspace, prompting the question if these trees are just an illusion of nature in the urban landscape.
Kantonen is Finnish artist living and working in London. She graduated from MA(RCA) Fine Art Photography from The Royal College of Art (2002). Kantonen is currently a Principal Lecturer in Photography at the University of East London. She will take part in another exhibition “On Landscape” in March with Finnish fellow artist Minna Pöllänen.
