    ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCE-PROGRAMME

The Finnish Institute in London has been actively initiating and supporting artist residency projects in the United Kingdom and Ireland together with Finnish art export organisations and information centres since 2002. You can find more information about our recent residency activities from our Residency Survey, published in June 2009.

In 2014-2016, the Finnish Institute in London continues to develop its residency programme further by expanding its network of partners, developing evaluation tools for residency projects, and establishing new collaborations.

Please note that the Finnish Institute cannot accept any applications. Application details and selection processes vary for each recidency as all recidencies are produced in collaboration with a British or Irish host organisation.

In 2009, the Institute conducted a comprehensive survey about its past residency activities (2002-2008), regarding the effects of residencies on the artists' work and career development. The aims of the survey were to summarise the experiences the artists have had during their residencies, to show the significance of artist residencies in internationalisation of art and art export, and to use the results to develop the Institute's residency programme further.
