  • The Finnish indie bands, Shogun Kunitoki and Kiila, will be performing live with leading new UK folk artist Alasdair Roberts, in an evening of alternative folk, pop and post-rock at the Sage Gateshead as part of the biennial AV Festival.

AV Festival 10 is an international festival of electronic and visual arts, music and moving image. The festival, which is one of Newcastle's flagship festivals, is taking place on 5-14 March 2010. It will include high quality public commissions, exhibitions, performances, film screenings and workshops at the cutting edge of art, science and technology.

The theme of AV Festival 10 theme is energy: a universal force that connects, transforms and renews life. Finnish indie energy will be created by Shogun Kunitoki, a quartet from Helsinki with a love of vintage synths, keyboards, oscillators and ring modulators and psychedelic folk rock collective Kiila, who will be doing their first ever UK tour. The evening with the Finnish artists and Glasgow-based Alaisdair Roberts aims to help electronic music regress back to a more ‘human energy' state.
