    This year's Nordic Film Festival features three Finnish Films: Helsinki, Forever, Punk Syndrome and Beyond.

    The Nordic Film Festival brings three Finnish films to London 1–3 December. The films shown at the at Riverside Studios are Peter von Bagh's beautiful cinematic essay Helsinki Forever, Jukka Kärkkäinen's and Jani-Petteri Passi's Punk Syndrome, a documentary about Finnish punk band and a Finnish/Swedish collaboration, Pernilla August's psychological drama Beyond.

    The festival is one of its kind in the UK – and brings together a broad mix of independent films from Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.

    HELSINKI, FOREVER
    Peter von Bagh, Finland 2008, 74 mins, London Premiere
    Award-winning Finnish director and academic Peter von Bagh's cinematic essay is a montage of visual representations of Helsinki by respected Finnish filmmakers.

    BEYOND
    Pernilla August, Sweden/Finland 2010, 99 mins.
    Noomi Rapace (Millennium Trilogy) plays Leena, a woman haunted by a traumatic childhood confronting her demons in this honest and insightful psychological drama.

    THE PUNK SYNDROME
    Jukka Kärkkäinen/Jani-Petteri Passi, Finland 2012, 85 mins, London Premiere
    The Punk Syndrome is a documentary about Finnish punk band and its four members who all suffer from mental disabilities. The film offers an insight into the world of touring anarchy – of love, hate, laughter and tears – and provides a commentary on society's changing attitudes towards mental disability.
